Infrastructure
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are proving to be a powerful tool offering new ways to capture and process data while reducing costs and safety risks. The ability to equip drones with various kinds of advanced detecting or surveying systems for the inspection of utility towers, bridges, air transport infrastructure, railways, and roadways is driving the rapid adoption of new methods. In addition, effective and low-cost in data acquisition, data delivery, and sharing allows infrastructure managers to identify baselines, for comparisons with future surveys. Software tools easily load data from two different surveys to measure changes over time.
When Drones are equipped with the latest technologies, such as LiDAR, some state of the art GNSS and inertial sensors, the highest quality imaging, positioning and data become available for a fraction of the cost of traditional methods.
